Hong Kong fashion enthusiasts have a new destination! Renowned for its natural dyeing techniques, local designer brand Kinyan Lam has officially launched at the prestigious JOYCE, offering a fresh in-store experience to support Hong Kong’s original designs.
Kinyan Lam was a finalist at the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers’ Contest (YDC) in 2017. After graduating with a Master's in Menswear Design from London College of Fashion in 2020, he returned to Hong Kong and taught fashion design at the Hong Kong Design Institute. The following year, he founded Genau Studio which focused on improving and promoting natural dyeing techniques. In 2022, Lam decided to pursue his creative ambitions by launching his eponymous fashion brand “Kinyan Lam’ - a brand that upholds quality and human-centric elements, with the application of the methods developed at Genau Studio.
The brand prioritises the use of natural fibers such as wool, cotton, and linen, as well as organic and hand-woven materials, to stand out the natural and sustainable aspects of the design. Through its vibrant yet pared-back aesthetic, Kinyan Lam is quietly practicing slow fashion and exploring the essence of sustainable fashion.
