This time I picked two local designer brands that offer totally different styles, showing more sides of myself: Toki’s Kowloon City Boy and Louis's MARCCH.


MARCCH is minimalism. This season's collection, ‘The Space Between’, is inspired by American artist John Baidessari’s collage art. I love brands with artsy taste and content, as it gives them more depth to develop. Louis didn't pick the colours John carried but used black and white, and blue and grey to introduce his aesthetic of quiet luxury. The space and the connection, the knot on the clothes and the collage work give us more imagination. This year I have become a lecturer, and feel the same connection when talking to students. Instead of feeding them too much information and setting up rules, I’ve aimed to create a stimulating space where students can learn more about fashion.
