Genic Eyewear, a fashion eyewear brand found by London College of Fashion graduate Emily Tai in 2012, who brings forward the belief that the sense of art and design is inborn. Their eyeglasses are uni-sex, and for people of any age – for people interested in aesthetics and style also obsessed with detail but not to the point of compromising functionality. Fashion, photography, architecture, music, or beauty can be the source of inspiration for the brand. Genic Eyewear as a specialist in the industry, they make nose pads a lot higher to suit Asians’ flat nose and it features retro shapes with flamboyant colours and patterns. Eyeglasses then become a fashion accessory more than a necessity. Riding on its brand value, Genic began its eyewear-making workshop called “Make Your Own Glasses” in 2013, celebrating the individuality and uniqueness in everyone and promoting the craftsmanship of eyewear. Eyewear lovers can make eyewear for themselves by choosing the rim shape, the temple shape, the colour...let say every part of the glasses! It takes just a few hours with simple handy tools for the participants to wear their own eye-masterpiece home.

MAYAYUEN JEWELLERY was created to give power to its owner every day. Its timeless but contemporary style takes inspiration from architecture, Art Deco and bold geometric shapes, and compliments any occasion from day to night. A strong motivation for Maya is the notion of putting the control in the hands of the wearer. She explains, "The ability to change a look by simply adding, subtracting or reversing in combinations give my customers control over the image they want to convey, under any situation. From casual to glamorous, I want to inspire the creativity of the wearer through transformation." MAYAYUEN JEWELLERY is made for the sophisticated modern customer with depth of character and a bold outlook on life. From hand sketches to store experience, Maya is personally involved in each piece to ensure its beauty and quality. She uses only high quality craftsmanship from accredited manufacturers of the HKJMA, whom she carefully selects and works closely with to create each piece. This attention to detail ensures MAYAYUEN JEWELLERY is always delivered in perfect condition. THE DESIGN CONCEPT The core concept of MAYAYUEN JEWELLERY is the creation of complementary pieces that can stand alone or be mixed and matched throughout collections, placing the power of transformation and creativity in the hands of the wearer. MAYAYUEN JEWELLERY takes the body as a frame to stack, where recurring geometric shapes compliment organic natural curves, and can be amplified with repetition and reorientation to create ever more glamorous effects. Placing creativity in the wearer also imbues MAYAYUEN JEWELLERY with an inherent sense of playfulness; earrings that can be matched with different jackets, rings that may be worn in reverse and stacked in countless ways to embellish the entire hand, body jewellery that may be matched with necklaces of differing lengths for different amounts of drama. Maya’s creations are an invitation for the beholder to unlock their imagination.

OBLIVION is an independent brand focus to create on fashion accessories and sculptures. The creation and production of products was all managed by two founders. We trying to fuse the art elements into fashion accessories and let people become a part of the art and improve the ornamental value of fashion. We are not in favor of formulaic mass production. We persist to produce every product and every detail by our own hands and hope the products can have a sophisticated and unique that compared to haute couture. We have spent a few years to study the leather stitching and sculptural technique. The fusion of sculpture and fashion accessories was hoping to develop more new elements in the inherent boundaries and explore more possibilities by the innovative and independent thoughts, this is the faith we always insisted. We hope to spread this faith out through the products, so that the crafts technology can be preach out and hope the users can live out their personal style by the products.

The story of Olivia Couture began in Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris, when Olivia Yip, the curator and tailor of the brand’s masterpieces, just got married and was looking for her own wedding gown. There, she was intrigued for the first time by the art of dressmaking in a petite boutique. Unlike what she saw in Hong Kong, the boutique had their source of clothing that made the dresses special. The shopkeeper met their customers in person to ensure each dress is tailor-made and hence fits the customer the best. Olivia was fascinated and decided to bring this concept to Hong Kong. Olivia had a graphic design background, but this did not limit her passion for dressmaking. Instead, this turned into her advantage as she strived to realise her dream to pursue elegance in fashion. Returning to Hong Kong, Olivia started to learn dressmaking from a retired couple experienced in running clothing workshops, where she acquired an Asian flavour in her design. She also started to share the passion with her best friends by making their wedding gowns. To ensure the dresses are made for the one who wears it, Olivia is involved in every process of the production – meetings, paper drafts, tailoring and so on. As the word spreads and Olivia started to get more requests for her tailor-made dresses, she decided to have her very own couture where she can invite her customers to have a taste of the Saint-Germain experience the one Olivia had 17 years ago. With a tranquil environment filled with petite boutiques, Yiu Wa Street became where Olivia continued her pursuit for the elegance and happiness in dressmaking. The Olivia Couture experience started at meeting with Olivia, when Olivia would suggest the types of dresses that suit the customer according to her body figure. It follows the choice of the right cloth, a sketch of the desired dress and the production of a dress sample. Olivia would then meet the customer again to try on the sample and make amendments. Finally, the ideal dress, which consists of six to seven layers of cloth imported from top-tier manufacturers in France and Italy, is produced and picked up by the customer. The couture experience by Olivia is associated with her road to a professional designer and tailor in Paris and Hong Kong. Fine customers in Olivia Couture celebrate the uniqueness of the Saint-Germain story reinterpreted in the international fashion hub of Asia.
