In a boost to local designer labels, FASHIONALLY collaborates with the Institute of Textiles & Clothing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

With a shared vision of promoting local designers, FASHIONALLY and ITC STORE, an initiative under The Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Institute of Textiles and Clothing (ITC), are ready partners.
In the debut collaboration (11 January-11 April), the two have teamed up to promote seven brands from alumni of the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers’ Contest (YDC). While fashion lovers can now shop the season’s hottest items at the ITC STORE x FASHIONALLY online store, ITC STORE’s physical showroom at PolyU will also showcase new arrivals for two to three labels every month. This new platform is the perfect start to kick off your support for local designers in 2021!

Launched by ITC in 2018, ITC STORE is a retail store that doubles as a teaching and learning laboratory offering experiential learning while serving as a platform for local design talent. It operates a physical showroom and an online store, providing students with an environment outside-of-classroom to develop essential skills in solving operational issues in the retail industry, from e-commerce and market intelligence to visual marketing and shop management. 

Now in its third year, ITC STORE will be expanded to showcase more than 30 brands by PolyU alumni and local designers. In the past, it has produced several exhibitions and launched crossover projects with local organisations, companies and media. Forced to re-examine its business strategy in the wake of the pandemic, ITC STORE revamped its brand identity with the introduction of new projects including the “Design Dialogue Series”, a Facebook live chat knowledge sharing and designer promotion platform. It also aims to strengthen industry collaboration through new exhibitions and other projects.

In 2021, ITC STORE has several exciting projects in the pipeline. It will introduce a virtual 3D showroom, host more Facebook live chats for the Design Dialogue Series to deepen online knowledge sharing and engagement, and make improvements to its online shopping platform. ITC STORE will continue its evolution as an innovative fashion lab offering unique learning opportunities for the next generation of local creatives and fashion talent. It also aspires to become a facilitator of collaboration between academia and industry that promotes social values in branding and business development by inviting students and the public to participate in design workshops, crossover projects and seminars.
