A graduate of the Institute of Fashion and Textiles at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Charlotte Ng was crowned second runner-up and secured the Best Footwear Design Award at YDC 2018. After winning the contest, she launched her namesake womenswear label, CHARLOTTE NG STUDIO, in May this year. The label targets women who love to mix and match and play around with accessories and layering, paying attention to workmanship and the choice of fabrics to offer an alternative to fast fashion through which women can fully express themselves.

The debut collection from Ng is titled “Fem-mannish”, referring to its combination of feminine and masculine styles. The designer believes that Hong Kong women can be in high-powered positions yet still remain elegant and feminine while also capable of being very physical. The collection shows this duality combining two very different looks in one outfit.

Ng’s FASHIONALLY Presentation is set in an office where women are working on different tasks, including some physical ones that show their versatility and strength.
