Watching models come down the catwalk might be the closest thing to encountering something that looks extraterrestrial. Continuing the thread of that narrative, we've released our latest fashion editorial titled ‘Landing’, reflecting the concept of alienesque creatures in masks and headdresses landing on earth for the first time – naturally picking Hong Kong as their first destination to show off their fashion sensibilities.
Set on a rocky shores of our island beaches, the editorial features 11 up-and-coming design talents, a majority of whom participated in previous Young Fashion Designers’ Contest (YDC).
Cordelia Bradley Millinery, known for her whimsical headpieces have provided demonic masks with horns and spikes.
Yeung Chin, who's edgy and free-form design aesthetic made ruffled and bunched headpieces, provocative harnesses, distressed dresses and ruffled cropped shirts.
Kurt Ho plays with his grey, sombre menswear, while
Kevin Ho offers his brand of sex appeal with cut-out dresses. No moody-by-the-beach shoot would be complete without
MODEMENT's androgynous collection of clothing ranging from exaggerated wide trousers to deconstructed tops.
HANG's Mim Mak features her sportswear designs in the form of a long beige windbreaker, while Lau Kat-chun has accessorised the looks with long and wide kimono like belts. Gwendelyn Ho brings her brand of architectural, Japanese inspired trousers and Hofi Man has designed a statement dress made from layered organza for a light flowing feel. Lastly, winner of last year's YDC, Kenneth Cheung offers his design of Japanese streetwear pants similar to that of Gavin Ng.
